I am very excited because a lot has happened since the ground-breaking ceremony on 22nd June 2021, and I have been to the construction site a few times. Particularly fascinating was the flying of the supports by helicopter, the installation of the cable and the construction work on the valley and mountain stations of the new lift system. My mind reminisces and the minutes by car fly by. Shortly before entering Filzmoos, I finally turn off and am already impressed by the sensational architecture of the building at the car park: a warm wooden look, a modern gable roof cube and a fully glazed cuboid harmoniously integrate the new sixpack into the landscape. The new cable car is definitely the most important private investment in decades and should give the village new positive impulses in summer and winter.
And Alois is already waiting for me. The Filzmoos Lift Company employee grabs his radio and we walk into the entrance area. Immediately I am totally impressed by the modern construction and the design of the chairs, which correspond exactly to the new brand identity of filzmoos.ski and compete with the sky and the sun in the colours blue and yellow. Then another employee starts the lift, we sit down in the comfortable chairs and off we go. Alois explains: "The new 6-seater cable car brings 2,000 people per hour up the mountain, has a speed of 5.5 metres per second, an inclined length of 1,151 metres, a continuous power of 365 Kw and 43 vehicles (= chairs). The bottom station is at 1,057 metres and the new top station was built at 1,357 metres. The direction of travel is clockwise, the 6-seater chairs are equipped with child-proof bars and a weather protection bonnet. Thus, the new lift meets contemporary standards and transports ski guests "up the mountain" much faster and more comfortably.
