Even from far away you can smell the aroma of freshly-baked farmers' doughnuts, which are served with tangy lemon balm syrup. In the Salzburger Sportwelt the alpine huts hark back to bygone time. Your everyday life fades into the distance in in a jiffy. Hiking is sure to be pleasurable experience - more than 1,000 km of signposted paths lead through the seven resorts - Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St.Johann, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben, Filzmoos - including the Salzburger Almenweg. There are 19 certified alpine summer huts in the region and there's always the option to head on up higher - from the alpine meadows into rocky terrain and on to the peaks. Whether on your own or accompanied by a guide - happiness is along the way - and leads steadily uphill.
